In vitro fertilization (IVF)

The physiology has taught us that for a pregnancy to occur, the ovary must produce a mature ovule that will unite with the spermatozoa. This union, called fertilization, occurs in the Fallopian tubes.

However, durante la in vitro fertilization  is a procedure that consists of four phases and takes place in the laboratory in the following way: controlled ovarian hyperstimulation, ultrasound-assisted oocyte harvesting, egg in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer into the uterus.

During the in vitro fertilization treatment, the remaining embryos are cryopreserved for their future transfer in another cycle.

Success of the in vitro fertilization technique , depends mainly on the age of the woman, the ovarian response and the embryo quality. The pregnancy rate per in vitro fertilization cycle is usually between 55 and 65 %, but in patients under 35 years of age it can reach more than 70 %.

In vitro fertilization is a highly efficient procedure. Thanks to the medical team of UR Mexico City and to the extensive technical equipment available to us, in vitro fertilization offers very satisfactory results in most cases.

The Reproduction Unit Mexico City is in the forefront of the in vitro fertilization treatment in Mexico, providing always the best diagnosis possible and kind and friendly treatment to its patients.
